Do I have to be a travel agent to join Travel-pa?

No, we have different models for different people. The one that is best suited to you will depend on whether you have previous travel experience. Our Academy is for people who wish to start a career in travel but have no previous experience.

I worked in travel over 5 years ago, can I still join?

Yes, you can. We will discuss your experience with you and advise on which model would suit you best.

What is the joining fee?

This will depend on which joining option is right for you. The options can be viewed on our website and discussed with our recruitment team.

What happens once I have signed up?

Once you have signed up and made your first payment or paid in full then our General Manager will be in touch to arrange your first training dates

Do I get my own website?

You will have your own micro-site as part of the Travel-pa website.

Are you ABTA and ATOL bonded?

Yes we have full financial protection in place .

How much can I earn?

The sky is the limit! This is your business. The amount you earn will depend on the time you are able to invest. For people starting out it takes time to create and develop a client bank. For people who have been in the industry, with an established client back earnings can be literally thousands per month.

Can I sell all Tour Operators?

Yes! We are a family run truly independent business dedicated to helping you achieve your personal goals. You are free to use any ABTA or ATOL bonded tour operator subject to the usual financial checks. 

Do I have to pay a monthly charge?

We only take a monthly charge when insufficient commission sales have been made in a month to cover the costs of your branch such as licences and bonding.

How much administration do I have to do?

After you have sent out the initial paperwork when making the booking our dedicated central team will be responsible for sending out confirmations, chasing balances and sending out tickets. They will also pay our suppliers.

Our Travel-pa's like to offer a complete personal service and, therefore, take responsibility for taking deposits and balance payments and liaising with clients for all amendments, essentials sales and problem solving.

What hours do I need to work?

Ultimately you are 'Self Employed' and are your own boss! Realistically you should plan to dedicate at least 30 hours a week into making your business a success. The more you invest in your business the more you will take out from it!

Will I receive training?

Yes you will. The length of the course depends on your joining option. We will discuss this with you when you speak to our recruitment team.

How long does it take to get up and running?

This will depend on the way you opt to set your business up but can be exceedingly quickly.

What support is there available to me?

There is business development, technical and administration support available to you by phone. Personal visits can also be arranged where necessary. You are running a business for yourself but you are not by yourself. 

When will I receive my commission?

Commission is paid directly into your bank account on or by the 7th of every month. Commissions become payable at 42 days from the client’s departure date subject to the final balance having been paid in full.

Can I pay the joining fee in instalments?

We accept instalments for our Academy recruits.

Does booking my own holidays count as previous experience?

Any holidays you have booked for yourself are valuable experience but unfortunately, they are insufficient to allow you to join on the limited experience model. The world is a very large place, it does take a while to learn all about it and how to sell the right holiday to the right person.
